It is a bit chilly here. The nice man on the radio at 6:30am announced that this is the coldest Utah has been here since 1996. We left the house with this weather:
When it hits 0 my mind automatically switches to Celsius, but no, it is way colder than 32 F. I just can’t wrap my mind around it.
Yesterday we discovered that the area surrounding our car tires was filled solid with ice. It took Andrew about 15 minutes using a shovel as a pick axe to clear out the ice.
Our food of choice in this weather?
Smoothies for sure! Even when they freeze us from the inside out.
In other news, I started my second week of student teaching. I have now entered a period of life where weekends really mean something again (they certainly didn’t in college). I was really looking forward to sleeping in on Saturday but both Andrew and I were up at 5am of our own accord-no alarms included! What else was there to do in the wee hours of the morning except watch a movie while wrapped up in layers of blankets to stay warm?
Andrew is in the light blue and I’m in the dark. It felt like being in elementary school again when I would wake up early to watch TV on the weekends. Needless to say, we are enjoying life in our new home.
