First of all, we live in America and that is a very great place to be! We are so grateful for the opportunities that we have here and for those that sacrificed so much to make that possible.
We had a wonderful 4th of July. It began rather early in the morning – 5:45 AM – at the balloon festival in provo. By 7AM the sky was filled with all sorts of hot air balloons.
We came home for a short break and then joined family (aunts, uncles, cousins, and their aunts and cousins) at a wonderfully shaded spot across from the Provo Tabernacle. It was a nice parade with lots of marching band, university floats, Ms. Everythings, horses, and cartoon characters. Mostly it was fun to watch the younger cousins enjoy the parade.
We had a large family dinner that night with my side of the family which was so fun! We don’t often get to be together so we have to create good memories when the opportunity arises.
Andrew and I did a few small fireworks on our own. We also rode our bikes to the tanner building parking garage to watch the Stadium of Fire fireworks. While we were waiting for those to start, we could see about 4 other community fireworks from the top level of the garage. And the Stadium of Fire fireworks were like nothing I’ve ever seen before. Totally worth the wait (they started at 10:20).
All in all, an absolutely perfect 4th of July in the year 2012.
