The most important news is that we have two new additions to our family (all pictures taken with my cell phone, so quality is not there so much):
Andrew stopped and bought me some orchids on the way home from work and a wonderfully thoughtful and amazing friend surprised me with flowers too. We are working on names for our new additions and spent about 45 minutes searching websites and youtube videos to makes sure they would be well cared for in our household (actually Andrew was and I watched over his shoulder).
Andrew and I decided after a long week it was time to go out to eat dinner. I’d never been to Texas Roadhouse before and we had a coupon for free fried pickles…is there nothing more enticing than that?! Needless to say the whole night was quite the experience.
When we got in I was shocked to find peanut shells covering the floor. They have buckets of peanuts everywhere that you can just eat and toss the shells wherever. It was rather difficult to throw the first shell down, but after the initial toss it became quite enjoyable!
In addition to being liberated from garbage cans, we explored the wonders of country music. Now I felt right at home after having so much time in Iowa, but Andrew was struggling a little bit. Nevertheless, we still chose some country music on the jukebox and the song played around the time we were eating the main course.
This was one of the first time I’ve been to a restaurant and been completely full before my meal came! Not only did they have peanuts to snack on, they also had really good rolls and really really really good cinnamon butter. And once you finished a basket, they brought out more! Plus we had our fried pickles. A good experience. Probably won’t be eaten again.
They also mixed up our order a couple of times, so we got way more food than we bargained for. We took home big boxes that will probably be lunch and dinner for another day or two.
Verdict – good experience, would have liked to join in with the line dancing the waiters, and a great way to end a very full week.
