I don’t ever remember a colder winter in my life. There have certainly been some cold days in my winter experiences, but not cold weeks and potentially months. I’m not talking freezing temperatures. 32 degrees sounds lovely. Actually anything that doesn’t start with a negative sign sounds absolutely wonderful.
I don’t really mind. It is almost like a bad joke. The high tomorrow is 21 and that sounds like balmy weather. I might not even need a coat. We were out and about in -20 degree weather today (with windchill). I’ll add 40 degrees to the heat scale any day.
The blowing snow is what really gets me. It is like a perpetual fog machine that every few minutes turns into a crazy, low visibility sandstorm. I tried to capture this phenomena on video and sadly it just doesn’t do the situation justice. Not even close.
We do have some beautiful sunrises in this frozen tundra. Yes the window screen blocks the view, but I think it helps tell the story. Too cold even for a quick picture outdoors.
I am so incredibly grateful for our heated cinder block structure that does not move with the harsh wind. We are warm and safe, and that makes for a pretty great winter.

I’m tellin’ ya, move to Denver! There’s something for everyone here. It snows, then it warms up into the 60’s! Then it snows again and warms up again! Super weird. But I am loving it!
