On Saturday we had the opportunity to go to the Chicago Temple because some friends of ours offered to watch Emily. It was an all day event, with lots of preparation the night before to try and be ready for the journey. While initially I felt a little upset that it was so much work to go, I realized that I was blessed with a lot time to reflect and mentally prepare for attending the temple. Emily was a trooper to spend 7-8 hours in her carseat and played outside for 2.5 hours so Andrew and I could go in together – something we haven’t done since before Emily was born. I’m incredibly grateful for the peace that is felt in the temple and that has stayed with me the past few days. I’m also grateful that we were finally able to take Emily to the temple. It is a place that I want her to know well and recognize as special.
