With my limited energy levels, Andrew and I figured that we should start packing a couple of hours each day starting on Monday, June 17. After a good amount of packing fun, we made sure to fill our evenings with last-chance Utah activities:
Ragtime at Hale Center Theater. We saw this with Andrew’s family and I was blown away! It was possibly the best play I have ever seen, second only to Wicked. The costumes, set, props, staging, and SINGING could not be topped. The play was almost 3 hours but I was so sucked into the world that I did not notice how late it had gotten. I’ve been humming the music for the last couple of weeks; it is full of catchy tunes. Anyone in the Utah area should check it out – I think it is playing for a couple of weeks in July.
Tucanos. Andrew signed up for the birthday club and got a buy one meal, get one free postcard in the mail. We went last year at his birthday and really enjoyed the experience. It was fun to go for a second time and just step away from everything we had been trying to accomplish. Plus we have been cooking a lot to try and use up all of the food in our freezer and it was fun to have someone else prepare our dinner. The grilled pineapple got Andrew’s seal of approval. My favorite was the garlic chicken, which was so garlicky Andrew could barely eat a bite of it. I never liked garlic before, so I guess pregnancy has changed my taste buds.
Gateway mall. This mall is in Salt Lake and if I remember the history correctly, was built for the winter Olympics. Andrew needed some back-to-school clothes and we scored some pretty incredible sales there. It was fun to explore and people-watch in that place.
Clark Planetarium Light-Show. Last year I bought a groupon deal for 2 light show tickets at the planetarium, figuring it would be something different to do but not really sure what it was. We took time to go on our very last weekend in Utah. It was basically a really long music video with crazy 3D animation figures moving and lasers. It was weird because it would feel like I was falling or spinning around while sitting still in the seat. We probably wouldn’t elect to go again, but it was a good experience.
Bridal Showers. Three of Andrew’s cousins got/will get married this summer. It is so fun to have more people joining the Snow family! The week before we left we had two family bridal showers that I was able to go to. I was reminded again at how lucky I am to have married into such an amazing family.
Then we moved away!
