I set up a tour of the fire station a few weeks ago and yesterday was the day! We got all ready and met some of our friends to walk over.
The fire fighters were incredible with our large group of 2-4 year olds. They showed their one-month old firetruck that has been to three fires. The kids took turns going INTO the firetruck! They looked at the lights and equipment. Then one of the fire men got dressed into all of his gear complete with an air mask so that the kids would know what they look and sound like and they wouldn’t be scared of them in a fire.
Nathan was there and very attentive too. He kept giving the fire men HUGE smiles.
After our walk home we watched a little reading rainbow field trip to see what the fire fighters do after they leave the station. Emily wore her new fire hat and said, “I’m fire fighter Emily!” We played fire fighters after naptime, driving our fire truck couch. Emily made sure we all took turns wearing her new hat, including Nathan.
We are all super excited to have more adventures!
