Andrew officially hit 27 years old on the 27th of June. He spent his golden birthday at a conference in New Orleans. He received a lovely singing voicemail from his favorite girls to commemorate the official day, but the actual celebrating of the birthday happened last Friday. We talked about celebrating on Saturday, but Emily and I decided to have some element of surprise by pushing our little party up.
We hung up the Happy Birthday banner, made a 2-layer german chocolate cake, and set out his presents. He was very surprised when he arrived home.
We jumped right into dinner and I put Nathan to bed as soon as he was done eating. Emily had been patiently waiting for two days to open the candles. The second she was done eating she was putting 27 candles on Andrew’s cake.
Andrew amazed us all with his ability to blow out all the candles in one breath.
Emily loved the cake and abandoned her fork. We never did a cake smash with her but she got a taste of the idea.
Andrew opened his cards and present after cake. We got him a leather wallet to replace his current one that he has been using since he was roughly 12.
Happy 27th Andrew!
