This month has been rough in the sleeping category. I decided yesterday that we are all ready to have Emily sleep in her own space at night. I spent 20 minutes working her pack n play out of our room and squeezing it into the other room (which is the size of a walk in closet, if I am being generous). This room already serves as a music room, office, library, and storage room so adding “Emily’s Bedroom” to its job description is pushing this space to its limit.
The piano is barely not in the picture. There was just enough room to lean around to put her in bed.
During the day I need to use that space for its other purposes, so Emily’s bed in back in our room for her naps. Despite the inconvenience of moving her around, yesterday’s first night alone went really well! This weekend’s task is playing Tetris to try and figure out how to make this a more doable solution.
Now that we are moving in six or so weeks, I started feeling a bit sentimental about our baby cave, original crib space in our room, and very impressive dryer changing table. So for the sake of being able to show posterity and remind my future self how we made it work:
For the record, I wouldn’t have it any other way. >

My mind always thinks clearest when I’m playing Tetris. Good call. :P
