Being in the teaching profession, we relish days off right along with cute kindergartners carrying cartoon covered lunch boxes and high school males that haven’t shaved…ever. Today we took some time to go on a short but beautiful hike to Donut Falls. This is a hike I first heard about almost 2 years ago to the date (January 17, 2011, to be precise) while I was in Israel. Andrew sent me pictures of his fun adventures with friends on this hike, assuring me that he was still doing exciting things in Utah while I had exciting things in Israel covered.
Our hike today was perfect in every way. Cold, but warm enough that the layers started coming off after about 20 minutes of hiking. The landscape was incredible! Because it has been so cold, the powdered snow covering the ground looked like a sheet of glittering crystals. It was also a great day for taking pictures:
