We celebrated my birthday over a few days which made it all the more fun. On Saturday Andrew took the kids to Walmart to buy me presents, leaving Lydia and I at home for some quiet time that we used making a delicious dinner and a good scripture study.
On Sunday the kids wrapped their gifts and excitedly arranged them in our birthday room for me to open presents. Laura was happy to take out the tissue paper to show me what was inside each one. I loved that every time a gift was revealed the kids were quick to say, “you’ll share it right mom?!”
They gave me green finger nail polish, binoculars for bird watching, kind bars in my favorite almond flavor, milk caramel chocolates, and a new fleece jacket.
On Tuesday we had mint chocolate chip ice cream in waffle cones. I had 3 candles in my cone and made a wish.
As my big gift this year we are planning a family hike.
On Wednesday, my actual birthday, we did my favorite tradition of saying what we love about the birthday person. Emily started off with me being “smart and generous”. Nathan liked that I taught him math and Laura likes it when I say yes to her eating a banana.
