Yesterday I woke up to a letter from Andrew on the kitchen table. At the very end was some very exciting news:
We were going to head out at 11am with the rest of the techs for lunch at Arthur Bryant’s BBQ. It was a good little adventure.
We had two guys riding with us into Kansas City for our meal. They sat in the back with Emily and did all sorts of things to try and get her to smile. She was really really tired and didn’t give them more than a tolerant smile during the 40 minutes in the car. I think Emily is adopting a bunch of uncles this summer, or they are adopting her.
Our sandwiches can be summed up with one word, meat. Andrew got a chicken sandwich, which was literally a chicken on a piece of bread. I got a beef sandwich, which was piles and piles of beef on bread. It was pretty good when we slathered it with their signature BBQ sauce. Needless to say, we have lots of leftovers.
Today’s conclusion is that we probably wouldn’t head back, but it is always nice to get out of our apartment and see more of the city!
