When we arrived three weeks ago we were a little worried we hadn’t packed more (*any) winter gear. Overnight it switched to eighty degree weather with lots of sun and all we can think about is finding ways to stay cool. There is a pool in our complex and yesterday we thought it would be fun to go swimming, but then realized Emily had no swimsuit, and more importantly, no swim diapers. So instead of going swimming we walked to Walmart, dreaming of swimming, to acquisition supplies for Emily so our next outing can be to the pool.
The most beautiful field of weeds I ever did see.
Andrew did his best to create a bit of shade for Emily as we walked.
After much deliberation we decided Emily probably needed some kind of flotation device in addition to a swimsuit and diapers if we were really going to enjoy our time in the pool. We were trying to find a life jacket that would fit her, but in the end settled on a little raft contraption because we just couldn’t convince ourselves that she looked comfortable.
Emily passed out as soon as we put her in the stroller to walk home. She was soooooooo tired.
On our way out of Walmart the bank inside was handing out bags of popcorn, so our little date ended with an unexpected treat.
It has been raining almost every day this week, but there is also a lot of sunshine throughout the day and during the rainstorms. We have a pretty good pattern established to quickly run outside after it rains because in about an hour the sun will heat the place up again to unbearable levels with humidity.
