Sunday. We found Nathan in a bed of throw-up in the morning. He acted normal the rest of the day. Took this kids on a Sunday walk, which turned into a Sunday run to the Celery Bog and back. Emily loved finding moss and brought a little moss covered stick home.
Monday. Nathan was acting exhausted so I put him down for a nap at 10am. Emily and I prepared for valentine’s day with making potato stamp place mats and cards. Nathan continued to sleep so we did some quiet time, followed by eating lunch, playing busytown, listening to Peter Pan and folding laundry together. We woke Nathan up at 3:00, Emily went off to play legos, and I laid on the couch with Nathan while he played with a jar. He loves taking lids on and off. While I finished up dinner Emily made her Valentines, writing her name on each one and placing a sticker on the inside. Nathan loved having his hands traced over and over again. I found him later on the curvy board laughing hysterically to himself as he took Emily’s tu-tu on an off.
Tuesday. The kids woke up to Valentines cards from Andrew and I. I taught Joy School. Andrew went on campus for a meeting. Andrew threw up on campus. He got on a bus to come home but only made it one stop before having to get off again. He holed up in his office for a bit, stranded while he waited for his stomach to settle. In the early afternoon he arrived and went promptly upstairs. He slept and threw up all afternoon and evening. The kids and I made our cold pink soup for Valentines Day (and carrot, sweet potato, ginger soup for all of us with unsettled stomachs), and talked about what we love about each other. I also told the kids stories about Andrew and I when we were dating. After everyone was in bed I went to Walmart for Gatorade, saltines, and basic groceries.
Wednesday. Got the kids up and going for the day. Handed Andrew soup. At 8:45am I laid down on the couch and fell asleep. I woke up at 9:30am and then went right upstairs, leaving Andrew in charge. I slept all day.
Thursday-Friday. We muscled through. We slept a lot, took care of the kids, and made time for Andrew to get his have-tos done. Emily, Nathan, and I went to our mom group class which is currently studying 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and changing my life!
Saturday. We cleaned Emily’s room, which had turned into a wall to wall disaster with everything she owns strewn everywhere in hopes of her entertaining herself. We went on a family bike ride to the celery bog and hiked around. There were tears getting there, there were tears leaving, and there were tears going through lunch. Everyone took a nap (2-4 hours for Andrew, Nathan, and Emily, one for me). I meal planned, went grocery shopping, and cleaned out our garden and backyard. We pulled together a last minute potluck with eight other families and enjoyed the evening outside eating and playing.
