Laura’s 1st Birthday!

It is surreal to think that Laura is already one!  We celebrated with pancakes for dinner, ice cream cones for dessert, and a present from Grandma and Grandpa Jackson.

We waited, of course, for Andrew to get home from work.  Laura is absolutely her most happy when Andrew walks in the door.  She jumped right in with her favorite game, peek-a-boo.

Blowing out the candles was a family affair!

It was fun to watch her slowly pick off all the wrapping paper. The books are nursery rhymes and children’s songs.  She hasn’t naturally been interested in sitting and looking at books, but she LOVES these ones because most of them are sung.  Her favorite so far is “There Was an Old Woman Who Swallowed a Fly”.

Andrew shared his ice cream with Laura and she loved it, quickly taking over complete control of feeding herself.  She decided she would master this skill early on and it amazes me how good she is with utensils already.
