Emily made this mobile out of sticks and pinecones a year ago as part of Joy School. Her friend’s new babies arrived shortly after but she patiently waited 8 months to excitedly share her present. Laura is finally starting to appreciate it.
Playing with peg dolls and acting out a story (either Frozen, Nutcracker, or Chronicles of Narnia).
Nathan wanted a picture of his apple. It turned out blurry but I thought it was a funny request and had to include it.
Nathan spent the morning going to the snowman shop. He got all bundled up all on his own so he could go outside for pretend.
Emily and Laura were playing pioneers under the recently dubbed “pioneer quilt”. They were chatting up a storm!
Emily “planted” a flower garden to remember Grandma Blomquist by “Because she like flowers”.
Emily got Laura situated and comfortable on the blanket, tucked in, and pacifier in mouth. I never asked how and everyone seemed happy.
Two weeks ago our neighbor had another experiment requiring garbage bags full of spinach. They graciously shared with us and we did our part with drinking green smoothies, eating lots of salads, and making spinach pasta. The pasta took part of the afternoon and the kids and I had so much fun. Emily and Nathan rolled out a chunk all by themselves and cut it. They helped cook it and deliver some to share with our friends.
Emily dipped her noodles in the salad dressing and thought it was delicious.
Nathan got his blanket folded to make a pillow for Laura to sleep on.
Emily took a photo of me on Sunday…
She wanted to take a group photo before church but Nathan wasn’t interested and Laura was already buckled in, so it turned into a girls/carseat photo.
When we got home from church on Sunday the kids immediately started working on projects with the blocks. The triangle houses are actually toys they made for Laura because the middle piece slides out.
They also laid a hardwood floor in their “house”.
We made little catapults on a freezing cold day inside.
Nathan turned his into an airplane.
Last week the kids actually stayed in their rooms until 7am so Andrew made a fancy green smoothie to celebrate (he just added berries to the second half)
Emily is very into hanging things up on her walls as decoration. She spent thirty minutes putting the tissue paper in different places all around her room until she settled on this arrangement. Yellow is her new favorite color (ever since Grandma Blomquist died) and the glitter one she loved. This all came about from her discovery of our wrapping materials and gift bags last week which she combed through and tried to claim as much as possible for her projects.
While Emily decorated her room Nathan worked on created his little tissues and wanted a picture of them.
Emily also thoughtfully hung up two tissue papers at Laura’s eye level so that she could see them too.
After bath, right before bed perfection. I love those two. And I love how much those two love each other!
