We reorganized the kids room and put the dollhouse up on the dresser in attempts to give them an out-of-baby reach place to play. They immediately set up a little farm.
We had a friend come help with the kids the day after I dislocated my shoulder so Andrew could work. They made this cool “car” with multiple boxes on a rug and then dragged the rug around the wood floors.
I can’t remember exactly the thought behind this pillow circle. Maybe school.
Chocolate cake to celebrate Andrew graduating and being Dr. Jackson!
Fireman Nathan, complete with a hose.
Laura has started helping unload the dishwasher. She loves handing the utensils to the kids to put away.
Our decorated mantel with Emily as the stylistic director and I added a few touches. We are calling this place our Christmas house.
The next wool project we tried was felting a wool sweater I found at goodwill. It went from being my size to shrinking down to Emily’s size after going through the wash and dryer. We wanted the fibers to be closer together and therefore warmer and more waterproof gloves. We got four pairs of mittens out of that sweater. I traced around everyones hands and then we hand sewed them together. We learned A LOT from this process and there are things I will differently next time, but they served us well all winter keeping us warm and dry (even when wet) and if they still fit are ready for another one. Best mittens EVER. And all four cost $4 for a thrifted sweater!!!
