Andrew found a little lake that he’s been taking the kids to about once a month during our time at home with social distancing. The kids love rock climbing and finding lots of animals, watching the fish, and rolling down the big hill.
First peaches of the season!
One of Laura’s current favorite games in rolling the red ball back and forth down our long hallway upstairs.
While I do spend a lot of time up and around, I usually need a break at the end of the day for an hour to recharge my batteries. I normally read the kids bedtime stories this way, and often we all end up piled on the bed. Andrew tested out the camera on his new phone.
The kids love taking pictures of their food – particularly when it is in a recognizable shape.
Emily made a hanging baby bassinet in the laundry room for her dolls. At its peak it was also wrapped in a sheet from up high and formed a beautiful cover.
It’s been a long time since duck duck goose was played at our house (a favorite in Connecticut though) and the kids remembered it. Andrew and the kids played for family home evening while I cheered everyone on.
We’ve been going on Sunday morning walks before it gets too hot outside. Usually Emily and I go on a meandering version while Andrew pushes Laura in the stroller and Nathan bikes. Our neighbors had a big pile of cucumbers to take so we each grabbed some and then enjoyed the biggest, juiciest cucumbers of the summer and gave some to our next door neighbors who wouldn’t adventure out so far in the heat.
Emily and Nathan made a “crib” for Laura in our bed and she spent a loooooong time hanging out there.
A constantly growing and evolving castle creation. They use more and more materials to add onto it and hide their treasures and small duplos or wood animals or peg dolls inside.
I don’t how it took us two years but our curvy boards and pickler triangle were combined to make some awesome motor boats for Nathan and Laura.
Andrew helped me finish up and hang the family values sign that I made! I love how it looks in our dining room. We’ve added the values to our family cheer and try and point out how we were living those values at dinner each night.
