I haven’t been pulling out our nice camera very much this year (at least compared to previous years). It all stopped with morning sickness and I’ve slowly been getting back into photography, but feeling discouraged at how out of practice I am. I recently read this post about how photography helps this mother savor motherhood. It was just the perspective I needed to start hauling our camera around to capture our ordinary moments. I still feel a bit critical of where I’m at and where I want to be, but I had so much fun running around outside with Emily on Saturday and purposefully experiencing and capturing the world on her level. I’m excited to start improving again on my photography and use it as a tool in motherhood.
She just figured out how to climb through the railing and swing on it. She loves to look way up at the sky and clouds.
Another favorite activity is collecting pine cones and sticks (but not roots – that was a teaching moment!) and dropping them through the holes.
She was concerned about getting the grass off and was asking for some help.
We also enjoyed running up and down the hill over and over again for thirty or so minutes. She invited a neighbor girl to join us and we all ran “up downs” together. Emily would say and sign, “ready, go!” and off we would run.
