A few weeks ago Andrew and I went to check out the candy windows at the Gateway Mall on Temple Square. It was soooooo cold (here is a view out of our car window to prove it – lots of snow).
We decided to cut through the mall and walk across the sky bridge to get to the other side of the street where the candy windows were. It was a pretty incredible building with a creek running through it (hence the name) and lots of rather fancy shops all decorated for Christmas.
After getting to the other side of the street, we tried to find stairs down. We found ourselves in a very empty hallway with exposed electrical wiring and plumbing. It was like the mall was merely a movie set, and we happened to walk off of it. Seriously, the contrast of the two environments was so drastic it felt like a science fiction movie.
We did find the candy windows though and they were pretty cool. I can’t imagine putting thousands of pieces of candy together to make such a large creation; a bit too tedious for me I’m afraid.
