Time is flying, the to-do list is long, and blogging is falling lower on the priority list lately. We are moving in two weeks and in addition to packing I have a few big projects that I’ve been working on every spare moment that I’m almost ready to share here. Fortunately Emily started taking semi-predictable naps last week which has given me more work time than I’ve had in months and months and months. Her timing is impeccable!
The highlight of our Easter weekend was having Bishop Davies come to our stake conference. Before the meeting began on Sunday morning he came up to Andrew and I and shook our hands and talked to Emily until she gave him a shy smile. I am always humbled by the genuine kindness and interest general authorities have in each individual that they encounter, especially when they are so busy and probably exhausted from travel. During his 45 minute talk he recounted the last week of Christ’s life and it took me back to my time in Jerusalem as he describe the Old City, Kidron Valley, and Garden of Gethsemane.
Even in the midst of packing I was determined to have a ‘real’ dinner of ham, mashed potatoes, and rolls for Easter. Andrew was so kind to jump in and execute my dream when I started loosing energy halfway through the preparations. It was so wonderful to pause all of the things we have going on and remember the resurrection of Christ and visit with friends.
We were also able to visit with family on the phone. Emily’s schedule was way off and she wouldn’t take a nap so she laid quietly on the floor, which is something she never does.
