Can you think of a more romantic meal? Andrew says yes, but that was the perfect Valentines dinner for us this year. Plus Andrew made me my absolute favorite dessert of all time, a mint chocolate chip ice cream
cake.
The day was particularly busy; Emily and I began the day hiding notes all over the house for Andrew. Emily then had an unexpected trip to the doctors after a particularly epic week of spitting up and not sleeping well at night (we haven’t reached the end of that story). I then spent the afternoon making pita bread with a friend while Andrew graded and graded and graded. And it snowed, a lot. Andrew illustrated this with the text he sent me on his way home:
“You know it is a bad storm when your car gets snowed in.”
I love his sense of humor.
And that we spent Valentine’s Eve (is there such a thing?) washing dishes together and talking. I think that is the first time this semester the stars aligned when Emily went to bed at a reasonable hour, Andrew got home at a reasonable hour (6 instead of 9:30), and I magically was still in a vertical position so we could spend some time together in such a normal manner. Sometimes the usually mundane things in life become wonderful and then they stay wonderful a little longer because you have the wonderful thing to remember. It is really nice when that mundane thing is dishes because we always seem to have a lot of them to wash.
