Dear Nathan,
Last week you had a major growth spurt and jumped from newborn clothes and diapers to 3-6 month clothes and size one diapers. We were at Grandma and Grandpa Moose’s house so we had to make do for a couple of days until we could come home and pull out some bigger outfits. It took us a few days to realize your diapers were too small so you had lots of blowouts during that time. Despite what the pictures show, you are still quite long and lean.
You started smiling today! With every grin you flash an adorable dimple on your left cheek. We got some great smiles at night and in the early morning hours.
While you don’t usually sleep for really long stretches during the night, you are quick to fall back asleep on your own in your crib. Even if it takes awhile you are okay hanging out by yourself until sleep comes, unless more burping is needed. You did manage a solid five hour stretch tonight for the first time. During the day we can still plan on a long afternoon nap.
You are a content little guy and only cry with discomfort, hunger, or freezing hands on your skin. In the last week you’ve started being awake in the mornings and hang out with us, watching all that goes on. At some point each day you spend time in the wrap with me while I do some cleaning or wash dishes. Sometimes you keep your head up taking in all the noise and other times you curl up and go to sleep.
You still enjoy tummy time and hanging out on your back on the floor. Your absolute favorite position is to be held upright looking over our shoulder so you can cuddle. You still give the most wonderful hugs which comfort us all.
We love you Nathan. You have brought strength and peace to our home. You have been a catalyst that has brought our family closer together. We are so grateful you are part of our family.
Love you!
