We are writing our story. We are choosing happily ever after.
Our greatest joy comes from our family. The family of three that we are just beginning, as well as our larger extended families. We believe families can be together forever – even after we die – and that the choices we make now will impact the opportunity we have to be an eternal family.
We believe that God wants us to be happy while we are on earth as well as after we die. He has provided us resources so that we can receive guidance and direction for our lives. We know that God has listened to our prayers and has answered them, often while we are reading the scriptures – both the Bible and Book of Mormon – or while hearing the words of our modern day prophet and apostles. We have also felt God’s love and offerings of peace and comfort through the Holy Ghost as we have tried to make decisions or experienced hardship. We believe that God has given us commandments to help us make choices that will bring joy in our lives and avoid pitfalls.
Everyday we try to make good choices that bring happiness to ourselves and those around us. Real joy comes from doing what is right. Whether it is a big or small decision, being true to ourselves and what we believe is important.
But we aren’t perfect and sometimes we mess up. And sometimes life just throws crummy things our way. We are so grateful for our Savior, Jesus Christ.
“Surely he has borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows… he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:4-5)
We can be healed through Jesus Christ, whether the healing was needed by our own choices or things that we had no control over. We have had our burdens lightened and peace restored to our hearts by relying on the Savior. This brings us joy. Jesus is the center of our Happily Ever After, where our family is together forever.
