traveling in 10 degree weather plus windchill means it is too cold to open the doors to make enough room to feed a baby in the back seat.
But when you are in the middle of no where surrounded by what used to be corn fields you feed her in the back seat anyway.
A full diaper will develop during this feeding. The only viable option is to hand her up to the driver to change her in the passenger seat. The really full diaper smells much more potent in a confined space.
Lots of garbage bags in the diaper bag are necessary. So is hand sanitizer. Too bad we didn’t have either.
Car seats really aren’t that fun to hang out in for hours when you are awake. So working on lung development is always a good option.
Walgreens has nice bathrooms and lots of random and strange things to laugh at when we need to take a break from car seat lung practice.
It is really great to reach the final destination. And to have family, food, and fun to buffer the drive home. Hopefully we will be able to apply some of our newfound knowledge.
We are so grateful for the humorous situations that go with parenting. This one tops our adventure list so far. Thanks for joining your 7 week old parents on this one Emily!
