We made our way to a hotel in Chicago in the snowy weather and usual traffic, taking a major detour the last 10 miles to try and avoid the 10mph traffic flow. Emily was a fantastic trooper until those last 10 miles. We went to bed at 8…

…because we woke up at 4am central time so we could welcome in the new year like this:

Emily was the best traveler of the three of us as we went from Chicago to Denver to Salt Lake City. We are so glad that we made it and thrilled to have some time to spend with family and friends. I can’t think of a more perfect way to start a new year.
